A friend of mine has a Pit and Pendulum sand sculpture (you can see what I'm referring to here: https://www.thegreenhead.com/2011/02/pit-pendulum-chrome.php) and the manufacturer just provides a split piece of tube to slip over the pendulum to use to redistribute and freshen the sand. It works OK but not great.
He asked if I could make something custom and this is the result. It works great. I don't have any photos of it but this just slips over the pendulum and has a face that matches the contour of a sphere with the radius of the pendulum arm length. I printed it for him in translucent red and it looks pretty nice.
I made the conical part with a significantly bigger angle than the pendulum and what sets the position is a tiny hole right at the tip. You may need to chase it with an X-Acto blade or drill bit depending on your printer. With the wide angle, it should fit nicely on any pendulum that is 24 mm in diameter. The ID of this thing is 24.5 mm so is a slight friction fit. Worst case if your printer prints it tight is to saw kerf it down the side or something.
I printed at 0.1 mm height so the contours would be better on the spherical face. At 0.2 mm it only prints about 4 layers so it would leave tracks in the sand I think. I did a light infill as it doesn't really need strength and no support is needed since it has the radius and cone shapes.
