The 3D model of part of Africa has its elevations exaggerated 25 times taller. The following countries are on this 3D model: Spain, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania, Georgia, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria, Sudan, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad, Niger, Nigeria, and the Northern part of the Congo Basin. The ETOPO2 data file was used. This one tile of 32 tiles in the Earth elevation files of ETOPO2. To verify the 25x exaggeration factor, I will measure an Italian volcano like Stromboli or Etna to see how tall it is compared to the width of Sicily.
The third photograph shows Nigeria and the Niger River. The Sahara Desert is seen to contain vast smooth areas, that must be sand dunes.
