Got tired of lead acid batteries high cost, short life, and high weight. I sized the interior for 2 LifePo4 packs, 6v, run in series for 12v. I bought them from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00URCJ4WQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but you can get them from HobbyKing as well. Due to the light electrical load on this bike I haven't even bothered with a BMS, especially since LifePo4 require the same charge as lead acid. I sized the top for short 1/4-20 bolts but really they arent needed as the lid fits so nice and snug, plus the battery compartment is the exact size as the battery.
