This is a simple adapter for M3, M4, M5 and M6 tread cutting taps to a Hex drill bit. I created it because I only have a hand drill with an HEX-Insert and did not want to buy specialised taps.
I intended it to work on both sides (M3, M4 on one and M5, M6 on the other; the hex bit fits on both sides), but the one side works fine for all four types of thread taps.
When clamping the part there is a lot of flex, therefore I strongly recommend using a sturdy but flexible material like ABS or PETG.
Screws I used:
2x M5x16 with a Hex-head
2x M5 wing nuts
Optional but recommended to fix the clamps:
2x M3x8 countersunk
