Work in progress! I designed this little rocket to take the 13mm Estes motors like the 1/2A3-4T. The rocket should go about 400' in the air on a 1/2A3-4T, which will probably put it out of sight. The body tube is sized so the motor will be slightly loose, so please add masking take to your motor for the appropriate friction.
I've included pointy & blunt nose cone models. 20180128: Added versions with square fin tips to give more surface area on the print bed. OpenRocket shows about 1.3 calibers of stability if you print with PETG at 75% infill. 20180129: Added versions with a tube fin and reduced fin length. I don't have any OpenRocket data for this version, so assume it will be extremely dangerous to fly.
The rocket prints as one piece (using supports) and has tumble/featherweight recovery.
I haven't flown this yet, so use at your own risk. OpenRocket says the 6-finned version with semi-rounded tips is about 1.2 to 1.5 calibers stable with any 13mm Estes motor. That stability will depend on the infill you use in the nose cone though. For the first flight, I'm using a 75% infill.
