Hi Folks,
Many people who own a Nilfisk x300 vacuum cleaner have experienced the handle breaking off. In my opinion, the handle is poorly engineered, whereas the rest of the vacuum cleaner is pretty good. The handle contains a remote control (battery powered PCB) which enables the vacuum cleaner to be switched on and off, as well as having its vacuum power setting adjusted.
I've built a little box to securely house the PCB and have built buttons which make contact with the tactile switches on the PCB. Print this at 20-30% infill for reasonable results.
The enclosure is in 5 parts - top cover, bottom box and three buttons. You will need to supply four 1.6mm diameter screws (7-11mm long) to keep the box together - I used small screws from some old Nokia phones. Alternatively, you can glue the box together.
This design was my first attempt using AutoCAD Fusion360 - which is slightly more involved than Tinkercad. I am grateful to AutoCAD for making these tools available for free to enthusiasts like myself - a fun and challenging project.
