Mold for creating weights that can be used with a Tiko 3D printer. Inspired by the post by Pratyeka on the Tiko forums, read that for more info on using weights to reduce the TIko's backlash. There are also easier and cheaper ways to add weight, but I was just looking for an excuse to try metal casting in a 3D printed mold.
For more info on the metal casting process, I describe the process in the following blog post: http://thrinter.com/metal-casting-with-a-plastic-printer/
There are some slots to embed magnets in the weights, but they're optional. The slots outside of the mold hold the interior magnets in place. It uses 4mm diameter magnets (4mm*, 6mm*, 10mm*).
Filling the mold with Wood's Metal* creates a weight around 150g. The actual weight needed seems to depend on the motor, in my printer the weight needed is different for each motor.
Printer - Eustathios
