I'm tired of wearing mask in my garage every time I mill something with my 3018 CNC. So, I decided to make a dust shoe for it. The design is simple, just few pieces that can be milled using the 3018 CNC it-self or also can be 3D printed.
One part of the dust shoe will be fixed on the spindle using the pre-threaded holes (M4). The bottom part is removable and can be installed on the machine once all the preparations for the milling job are finished.
The first version has the hose too far away from the bit and didn't have good suction to pull up the dust from the parts.I made another improved version that has the air flow more focused around the bit and it made the dust shoe a lot efficient.This upgrade will make your 3018 CNC a lot comfortable to stay around. You will have cleaner air to breathe in your machine shop.
