This thing is a remix of my first design, which was simple and it worked well at first, but after a week or so it began to bend under constant pressure. So, back to the drawing board!
This repair requires you to cut the tab and the triangular supports off completely. Use tape to protect your cover to prevent scratches. I used a small jigsaw to cut off the remaining tab, and cut the remains off flush with a flat file and a sharp knife. Take your time!
Drill the holes in your cover after printing the parts, and use the printed parts as templates.
I strongly recommend to print them on their side (see pics), and with 95% infill. This gives the strongest result. I used PETG, which is strong and relatively easy to work with. I also used a raft since PETG crap on your nozzle sometimes knocks your part off the heatbed.
You will need 4 bolts and 4 nuts (nyloc is advised). All must be 5mm. My bolts are 12mm long. You will also need a 5mm wood drill bit.
Enjoy, let me know how it works for you and post your make!! I'd really appreciate it!
