This is my take on the Google Cardboard idea – a frame with lenses that very inexpensively turns your phone into a pair of VR goggles, like a very low budget Oculus Rift. Google Cardboard is very bulky though, and makes it hard to use the touchscreen while the phone is inside. It's also impractical to transport. So I made this.

uses inexpensive Google Cardboard lenses (e.g. from eBay, see below)
attachment points for a head strap
compatible with Google Cardboard apps
display stays accessible (mostly; i wouldn't type a text on it, but selecting things works fine)
What you need to buy:
Lenses: Google Cardboard compatible biconvex lenses, diameter 25mm, focal length 45mm (search on e.g. eBay)
some M2 screws or a diameter 2mm carbon rod
Test prints were done using ABS filament. You may have to rescale when printing with PLA to account for shrinking with ABS.

Google Cardboard ist sehr sperrig und macht es schwierig,den Touchscreen zu verwenden,
weil das smartphone im Inneren ist. Es ist auch unpraktisch
zu transportieren. Daher konstruierte ich das.
Eigenschaften:

Nutzt preiswerte Google-Cardboardlinsen (z. B. bei eBay, siehe unten)

Kompatibel mit Google Cardboard-Anwendungen
Display bleibt zugänglich, die Bedienung der apps funktioniert gut
gekauft werden muss:
Objektive: Google Cardboard kompatible bikonvexe Linsen,Durchmesser 25mm, Brennweite 45mm (Suche bei z. B. eBay)
Einige M2 Schrauben oder ein Carbonstab Durchmesser 2mm, der auf die erforderlichen Längen geschnitten werden muss
Die Testdrucke wurden unter Verwendung von
ABS-Filament durchgeführt. Möglicherweise muss
beim Drucken mit PLA neu skaliert werden, um die Schrumpfung mit ABS zu berücksichtigen.
