Motor mount for the Bix3 to accommodate for bigger standard motors and props
I designed this mount for a Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 2836 1040kv motor. A Propdrive v2 2836 1400kv also fits and possibly other 2836 motors as well, as long as the mounting plate has a hole distance of 33mm diagonally. With this mount it is able to spin a 9x6 inch prop safely.
Non printed parts
You will need 8 M3 x 10 countersunk screws with corresponding M3 nuts, possibly Nylock, if you have them.
Assembly
screw the motor to the mounting plate with the (lock) nuts on top.
place the other 4 nuts in the recessed hex shaped holes on the mounting tube part
screw the mounting plate with the motor to the mounting tube
Cut the foam tube that usually holds the original plastic motor tube roughly at the height where the original motor tube would end.
glue in the 3d printed motor mount using CA or epoxy. The protruding plastic "wings" should line up with the recessed parts in the foam
With 30% infill this thing is very robust. I have had a few very bad crashes e.g. with the whole foam part holding the motor breaking off. The mount stayed intact during all of these.
