Upgrade for the 3018/3018 pro to increase rigidity.
There are mounting holes for both nema17 and nema23 on the top.

Edit: Added an alternative file for using one of those clamps that are usually delivered together with the chinese 52mm spindles. (although I think my original design is more elegant, but a bit more complicated to machine, since it has 3 different components that have to fit together.)

EDIT2: Made a better alternative spindle holder with a drawing, tempo drawings and program files. GrabCad won't let me upload .NC-files, so they're in .txt-format.

Edit3: Added a 55mm version.

The new spindle holder(s) is meant for a 52/55mm spindle.

Take one of the rods from the old X axis, cut it down to size with an angle grinder and reuse it for the Z axis.

Bill of materials:
4x LMH10UU (you can reuse the LM10 found in the X-axis carriage, but they are pretty shit)
2x MGN12H 350mm linear rails
4x MGN12H blocks
16x M3x16
30x M3x10
30x 2020 t-slot thingies with M3 threads
8x M6x30 (30-40)
1x TR8x~120 with an anti backlash nut

I think I found the linear rail and the TR-nut models on this site, but can't really remember, so I have no Idea who to credit for them.
