Konno Yuuki's sword from SAO2 the Mother's Rosario arc.
Now with pictures!!
Over all very happy with how it came out. Printed 0.2mm layer height, 2 walls in purple PLA. Then super glued the sections together. To finish I used a very fine grit sand paper to clean up the glued edges and anything else.
Handle feels much better at 25mm then 50mm dia. The blade base looks a little bit narrow but am happy with the ratio. The whole things feels quite strong, it does flex a little but I expected that.
In improvements for the future would be:
Stronger material.
Try more sanding to smooth out the layer highs.
Polishing
Sticking together with plastic not glue.
V1.3 will be the final version for now I may revisit this in the future but I am happy with the model it mades (just need to print it). The code has become very messy and will need re writing but not going to do that. Use share and enjoy, this is my first model from images and I enjoyed making it hope you do too.
.
V1.2 now has a slicing feature that cuts the sword up into sections for printing.
Use the slice var to turn it on(1) or off(0) then enter you printers height.
You can then change the section var to chose a section and render.export as an stl.
slicing starts form just below the blade - numbers are for the handle and + number are for the blade.
Updates:
V1.3
(was bug with not rendering now fixed)
So I kinda messed up on the sizes a 50mm dia handle is massive. Corrected this now 25mm but it has pushed some of the Blade Base sizes out. There is a lot of just putting values in till it looks right.
V1.2
Added ratio and percentages for blade decoration as well as blade base width. The model is not scaled on sized I pulled form screen shots and based on a 200mm long, 50mm wide handle (guessing on that). As the files is parametric you can adjust if needed. If anyone has any better ideas on sizing I would love to know.
Now includes a slicing feature to cut sword up in to pieces fro printing.
V1.1
Got some ratios from screen shows so sizes should look better.
Redid bladeBase to be a % and is easier to work with.
