Improved lens hood for harsh conditions where the sun might be very close to the dirrection in which youre shooting. The baffles inside and the overall design is based on an optical simulator so it doesnt cause any vignetting on aps-c chips but prooves to be quite effective. Also useful for astrophotography. Also works as a dew shield for that purpose.
It cant be reversed like most lens hoods. If I made it that way, it would have to be wider and Id sacrifice some effectivness.
BEWARE it only works with aps-c size sensors. Itll cause vignetting on FF.
I use it with a canon 600d and it was made for Samyang 85mm f1.4 aspherical if (the one with the gold labels) but itll most likely work with a sony e mount version or other versions of this lens. Other manufacturers under different names make the same exact lens so even if its not samyang, this lens hood might fit it aswell.
