To accompany University of Bath delivered after-school Science and Engineering class activities. Concerned with understanding the physical principles and engineering challenges associated with electrical power from alternative sources.
Part 1 is to replace the temperamental bread boards. Allow the electrical power of a generator to be measured. Use a 1K ohm resistor in conjunction with an LED and jumper wires. More detailed images to follow regarding wiring.
Solder jumper wires together and use glue to attach in place. LED and 1K resistor in series.
and - denote where pv panel, motor, battery etc. connect to this circuit.
'A' wires denote position of ammeter - these wires must make connection to close circuit.
'V' wires denote position of voltmeter - wires NOT to make connection if not passing through voltmeter, will cause short circuit.
V takes a measure of voltage across resistor.
A takes current reading within the circuit.
Supplies are a range of lego technic compatible motor mounts. Allowing a range of wooden kebab sticks, plastic teaspoons, pencils, and other sticks to be inserted, allowing vertical and horizontal axis rotation of shaft.
Part 3 - fits inside a standard UK milk bottle, 1 to 6 pint plastic bottles, allows 12mm inner diameter tubing to be attached for hydro projects.
