Be careful when you open up any kind of power supply, mains voltage can kill you. Perform this upgrade at your own risk only.
I also used an adaptor which came in a 40x10mm noctua fan, the 3pin to 2pin connector and a silencer.
I wanted to make my printer as quiet as possible, so I looked for some quiet fans, and as Noctua makes good fans I decided to go with one of their fans. The problem is that the fan that was included in my power supply was ~15mm deep, and the only 60mm fan they had was 25mm deep. At first I just mounted it on the outside, but I didn't like that as it looked fairly jank and a major source of the noise was the metal grid in front of the airflow which delivers very choppy air to the fan, which then in turn makes more noise.
Eventually I decided to just cut a hole in the case, and while I was at it, I could just embed the fan a bit nicer into there. The big round sockets are for the included silicone pads to rest in. As you can see the result looks fairly nice, but mainly the noise is waaay down.
