This is a tool to transfer an angle between two planes to a piece of paper or a measuring device such as a protractor or goniometer.
Print the "leg" twice, and each "joint" once. I oriented all parts with the hex cutout facing the print bed, and enabled supports for joint 2. Maybe orienting them sideways works too.
The design is heavily inspired by a product by Lee Valley Tools, which looks to be very nicely made, but is quite expensive.
This tool is assembled using M4 hex head bolts and wing nuts. Two of the bolts need to be at least 18mm long, the third at least 10mm.
If you don't have wing nuts (I didn't either), there's a great M3 wing nut design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1137902. Scale it up 128.3% and it will accept an M4 hex nut.
This design was my first ever attempt at using CadQuery, a Python library for creating parametrically designed 3D models with code. The python file is included, as well as a STEP file.
